Kingdom Economic Sermon Series (Nov. 10-24)

On November 10, 17, and 24, Brian and Nora will be leading our Kingdom Economics Series in all 3 of our morning services!  Come prepared to develop an understanding of stewarding your finances in a Christian way. Each service will have identical teaching delivered from the same person.  In order to accomplish this, our Contemporary Service will start at 10:35 AM each of these three Sundays.  We encourage you to plan ahead if this change affects your schedule.  This series is also a great opportunity to invite your friends and neighbors to worship, as the Bible offers applicable wisdom that many people are searching for!

I Am Third at St. Luke: Important Community Outreach Opportunity!

We have some exciting news to share: St. Luke Basketball is now I AM THIRD at St. Luke! This means that we will be able to have a lot more teams, kids and families involved. We will also have a lot more resources to reach more people for Jesus Christ! Because of this we are starting the season much earlier than usual: practices begin November 11, games begin November 30, and the season runs through February 8. This means that we need your help! Not only is this an extremely important and effective community outreach ministry, this is also our program! We need volunteer coaches, greeters, concession stand volunteers, scorekeepers, and paid referees. Don’t forget games start November 30!  Email mwalz@stlukeumc.org to sign up ASAP!

You’re Invited to the Habitat for Humanity Dedication!

The Habitat for Humanity home, that St. Luke and other local United Methodist Churches have been volunteering to build, is finished and it’s time to celebrate another family achieving homeownership! The dedication will take place on Sunday, October 27 from 2-3pm at 230 E Sixth Street. We hope you’ll join us to cheer on Wakenya, Sifa and their family.

Evening Desk Host Needed

We are seeking an additional person to work approximately 15-20 hours per week as Evening Desk Host, which includes security and locking the building when activities are concluded.  If you would like more information, please contact Venus Brown, vbrown@stlukeumc.org or 859-269-4687.

Pastor/Staff Appreciation Month

Although we appreciate our pastors and staff all year long, October is designated as Pastor and Staff Appreciation month by the United Methodist Church.  Please join us in celebrating our pastors and staff by expressing our love, appreciation for their dedicated service, and just simple words of encouragement.  Baskets will be placed in the Connection and Welcome Centers during the next couple of weeks for you to leave cards, letters, notes of appreciation, etc. Many of the staff also enjoy receiving gift cards, sweets, and other special gifts. Use your imagination to show our St. Luke pastors and staff how much we appreciate what they do for us all year long. Thank you, SPRC.
