Did You Know St. Luke Supports Kentucky Refugee Ministries?

If you have clothing you would like to donate to the Kentucky Refugee Ministry, simply take your donations to Goodwill and tell the attendant at the drop-off that you want your donation credited to the Kentucky Refugee Ministry.  Then, refugees working to establish lives in the U.S. will receive vouchers for free clothing. For families who are often coming from war-torn areas and have had to leave everything behind, this simple gift can be life-changing!

UMW: Hope, Faith and Love in Action

Good Stewardship at St. Luke

At St. Luke, we want to be good stewards of creation and of promoting environmentally sustainable practices. We do recycle and have several recycling bins (Rosie’s) on site for you to recycle your paper products, aluminum cans, plastic bottles and jugs, and glass bottles. Remember, styrofoam is not recyclable and so we do not use styrofoam products of any kind here at the church. Please remember to use our paper cups and plates. These are supplied in both kitchens. Thanks!

Disaster Relief in East. KY

The devastation around our state, and especially Johnson County resulting from the recent storms and floods, is a reminder that as blessed people we have a responsibility to be a blessing.  In addition to your prayer support, we are calling on our churches to collect needed items to be sent to the hardest hit areas to help with recovery. A list of needed items is posted on our Facebook page, our website, and the bulletin board in the Cafe. You can drop off these items at one of the four designated locations. Our drop-off points are: Christ Church (Harrodsburg and Man O’War) and First UMC (downtown Lexington). Contact Randy at Christ Church with any additional questions you might have about updates at pastorrandy@christchurchlex.com.

Materials for seven flood buckets were contributed at our Wednesday.comm closing event this past spring, and those buckets filled with much-needed supplies were sent to Johnson County, where they were put right to work.  Many thanks to those who contributed funds and supplies and who helped assemble the flood buckets!
