The church offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
UMCOR in Nepal
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is already on the ground in Nepal. Donations to support the response to the earthquake in Nepal and other international disasters can be made online through UMCOR Advance # 982450. Checks also can be made out to St. Luke. Just write UMCOR Advance #982450 on the memo line and put in the offering plate. 100% of your donations go directly to the designated program.
Meet-and-Greet with Pastor and Staff
We are so blessed to have guests join us for Sunday morning worship. Pastor Mark and the staff are anxious to get to know new folks when they come. Those who are new to St. Luke are invited to join us for a Meet-and-Greet time between the 9:45 and 11:10 services and after the 11:10 service. This takes place in the Connection Center (in the Lobby between the Life Center and the Sanctuary/Children’s wing).
Prayer Shawl Ministry
This new ministry knits and crochets beautiful prayer shawls for people who are experiencing either times of celebration or times of need. Want to pray and knit or crochet for this ministry? Know someone who would benefit from receiving a prayer shawl? Contact Sue Pixler at email@example.com or 307-321-2934.
Did You Know St. Luke Offers Free Counseling?
Are you struggling with relationships, grief, anger, discouragement, or loneliness? The St. Luke Counseling Ministry provides unlimited free and confidential personal, marital and family counseling with a Christian perspective to adults and adolescents from St. Luke and the surrounding community from a professional Kentucky licensed pastoral counselor. Contact Pastor Don Cutter at 859-221-6360 to set up an appointment or contact the church office.
Will Solomon in Concert at St. Luke
The St. Luke Young Adult Missional Communities and our worship leader, Will Solomon, invite you, your friends, and family to come on out to the church this Friday, May 29 at 7:00 p.m. for a time of fun, fellowship, and good music. Featuring acoustic guitar, upright bass, fiddle, mandolin, and electric guitar, it will be a night to enjoy original lyrics and melodies written by one of our own. See Will Solomon for more information.
If you or someone you know is home bound, in the hospital, sick or in a nursing home, please call the church office and let us know. We appreciate knowing when someone is in need of special care.
Annual Conference Mission Offering
This year’s mission offering at Annual Conference will be divided between two projects. The first project is the ongoing response to the Ebola outbreak in Africa. Though the epidemic has abated somewhat, the process of rebuilding the health care and essential services infra-structure in the effected nations will be a long term process. The second project will be helping to build a school in Belize under the leadership of our own Kentucky missionaries Lisa and Jamie Williams. Before going to Belize a few years ago, Jamie served as the pastor of the Wilmore United Methodist Church. At Missions Night of Annual Conference in June, each church will present the amount contributed by members of the church. We will be receiving any special offering for the next couple of weeks. Simply place your extra gift in the offering place marked as “AC Missions.”
