Gentle Reminder about Donations
At. St. Luke, we are blessed to have an abundance of generous givers who are eager and willing to donate used clothes, used items, and other various needs. At this time, we are currently not accepting clothing donations. Please take any clothing donations to Goodwill and ask them to count it towards Kentucky Refugee Ministries. The Mountain Mission truck will not arrive until August. You may continue to place small toiletries for the Nathaniel Mission in the basket in the Connection Center and food donations for God’s Pantry are always accepted.

Retirement and Appreciation Dinner for Paul Bramel

We would like to invite the St. Luke family to attend an Appreciation and Retirement Dinner for Paul Bramel on Friday, June 3, to thank him for his years of service and dedication to St. Luke.   It is truly a joy to honor him.  It will be held in the St. Luke Fellowship Hall starting at 6:00 pm.   We will provide fried chicken and ask all those who attend to bring a side dish, salad, dessert, etc.   We would also like to be able to present him a gift card for a trip of his choice.  If you would like to contribute, please bring your gift to Mark Walz or leave it in the basket that will be placed at the Connection Center.  Please make any checks out to “St. Luke UMC” and put Paul Bramel on the memo line. Hope to see you there to give Paul a wonderful retirement celebration!

You are invited to “Sundaes on Saturday,” St. Luke’s 3rd major celebration event of our 40th Anniversary Year.  The date is Saturday, June 11, 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

We’ll have sundaes, banana splits, and more!  Ice cream provided; you are asked to sign up to bring your favorite topping.  You won’t want to miss the amazing variety show hosted by Casey McKenzie, who may have a surprise co-host or two.  Make your reservations beginning today near the Connection Center.

You Can Help Celebrate Our 40 Years of History

We have many photos of past sessions of Vacation Bible School, but we do not have basic information like year and theme.  Please stop by the display at the Connection Center and see if you recognize yourself or your children and jot down any information you can remember.

New Sunday Morning Study

The Genesis Class will begin a 6 week video and discussion series using Philip Yancey’s book, Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? The series will begin today, May 22nd. Yancey will help us explore and experience the very heartbeat – the most fundamental, challenging, perplexing, and deeply rewarding aspect – of our relationship with God: prayer. Yancey says, “Prayer is the act of seeing reality from God’s point of view.”  Join us in Room 126 at 9:45 am for this engaging study!

Now Available!

Don’t miss out on the celebration!  Get your St. Luke 40th anniversary commemorative items! T-shirts, stainless steel coffee tumblers, and insulated water tumblers, all with a special 40th anniversary logo, are now available in the Connection Center.  Get yours today!

Three Guys Praying

Every Tuesday night for the past 20 years, three St. Luke men, plus other prayer warriors, have met to pray for specific needs and concerns. Would you like someone praying for your concern? Simply send your request to threeguyspraying@gmail.com.  All are welcome to gather for prayer in the chapel (Room 2) off Fellowship Hall Tuesday nights 6:00–7:00 pm.

Help Us Update Our Prayer List

We love praying for people, but we would also like to keep the prayer list updated. Help us keep an updated prayer list by contacting the church office if you have a relative or friend in need of healing. Persons on the prayer lists will be automatically rotated out after one month unless the church has been notified otherwise.
