Prevent Homelessness -Walk for Warmth
You can help the Lexington Rescue Mission help with utilities and rent to keep families in their own homes. Join Team St. Luke, walk two miles through downtown, raise funds, and awareness of local homelessness. Come to the Connection Center to get info and sign up for the February 28 walk. If you cannot walk, sponsor a team member and a needy family will stay warm.
Winter Weather Policy
St. Luke’s policy is that we will have worship even if it is poor weather. Your personal safety is paramount! If you are not comfortable coming out in the snow, please do not risk your safety. For Wednesday.comm and Upward activities a decision will be made by 1 p.m. Our website, Facebook page, Infoline and local TV stations will post the cancellations. Ministry teams will be notified by the team leader of cancellations for meetings.
United Methodist Women Unit Meeting
Both circles, Esther and Sarah, will join for a Unit Meeting on February 12th at 10am in Fellowship Hall. This will be an action/hands on meeting. We will put together Health Kits for UMCOR and we will send cards to missionaries and St Luke shut-ins. There will be a short program on Prayer and Self-Denial. Refreshments will be served – bring a Brunch food to share. Come and join us in these activities!
Ongoing Nathaniel Mission Needs
St. Luke sends a team of volunteers to serve breakfast on the first Sunday each month. We also distribute sample/hotel size toiletries, with a great need for razors and toothbrushes. Socks, new and used and individually wrapped snacks are always welcome. Bring your donations to the basket at the Connection Center.
On Sunday, February 15 we will have a great celebration in our morning worship services and following the 11:10 service an Open House in the Life Center. Displays and light snacks will be provided in each of the Life Center rooms. As some generous gifts have already been received for the Balloon Fund, we will culminate the celebration with our first balloon release. It will be an exciting day in the church. You won’t want to miss it. Come plan to soar with us in 2015 and beyond.
