More Yarn Needed
Our knitting and crocheting group is in need of yarn donations again. Thank you for your donations in the past! The groups meets on a regular basis and makes many things to donate to people in need. Please drop off donations at the Connection Center. Also, if you would like to knit or crochet items for people in need but can not meet with the group on Wednesday evenings, feel free to make items on your own time and bring them to the church.
Upward Needs Your Help!
Volunteers are still needed, particularly coaches and a half-time devotional coordinator or those willing to volunteer to do half-time devotions. Please sign-up board in Connection Center.
Winter Weather Policy
St. Luke’s policy is that we will have worship even if it is poor weather. Your personal safety is paramount! If you are not comfortable coming out in the snow, please do not risk your safety. For Wednesday.comm and Upward activities a decision will be made by 1 p.m. Our website, Facebook page, infoline and local TV stations will post the cancellations. Ministry teams will be notified by the team leader of cancellations for meetings.
Continuing the 8:30 Ensemble
We love singing for the 8:30 service! Our schedule is flexible; recordings are provided and practice is Sunday at 8:00 am. But we have several snow birds and are scrambling for additional singers. Please talk to one of our singers or Sue Lord (797-1586) if you might strengthen our song.
Local Mission Needs
Think about the homeless people served by Nathaniel Mission during cold winter weather. There is a huge need for large sized sweatshirts and hoodies to use in layering for warmth. There is always a need for jeans and sweat pants of any size. Bring your donations to the basket at the Connection Center.
Ongoing Nathaniel Mission Needs
St. Luke sends a team of volunteers to serve breakfast on the first Sunday each month. We also distribute sample/hotel size toiletries, with a great need for razors and toothbrushes. Socks, new and used and individually wrapped snacks are always welcome. Bring your donations to the basket at the Connection Center.
Kroger Card Update!
Thanks to everyone who is participating in the Kroger Community Rewards program by linking your Plus Card to St. Luke UMC! Our benefit for the first quarter of our participation was over $1,500! This is a substantial increase over the old program of purchasing gift cards. What an easy way to support St. Luke and its ministries! If you have not signed up yet, please go online to www.kroger.com and follow the process. If you need help, please contact Dawn Brodersen at email@example.com or 859-577-3298.
