Fellow St. Lukers,
Being good stewards of God’s blessings involves both our giving to the church and our management of those offerings. Our staff does a wonderful job year after year of carrying out the ministries of St. Luke in the most effective way possible.
Even so, from time-to-time it makes sense to take a deeper look at our costs and expenditures. To this aim, a work group has been formed including both staff members and laity to review controllable costs and to research cost-savings opportunities. You’ll hear more about this in the next couple of months.
In the meantime, we are asking each of you to participate in this effort by being vigilant to turn off lights when you leave a room, not change thermostats unless there is a real issue, avoid bringing liquids into the sanctuary where spills require cleanup, being frugal with supplies, and other areas you may think of.
Speaking of those other areas: We would love to hear from you! We challenge individuals, families, small groups, Sunday school classes – anybody and everybody – to think about ways to stretch our resources and submit your ideas to the church office. The work group will consider all ideas and share the best ones with the congregation.
Think of it this way: Every dollar saved is a dollar that can be directed toward ministry. So please pitch in and do your part, let us hear your great ideas and, in the meantime, we won’t leave the light on for you!
