Last night our Thursday Night Worship Community spent time in prayer and reflected on what God has in store for 2014. Below is the prayer guide that was used. We hope that you will take a few minutes to pray in your home and are blessed by the time spent. Take time not only to pray but also to listen to God’s voice.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Share in communion with your family. Take time to confess before God and start fresh. The past has been forgiven. Start a new.

Renewal of Old Relationships/Praying for New Relationships
Ask God to be at work in your existing relationships. Some may need His healing. Ask God to help you love those that are difficult to love. Also, pray for those new relationships you might have in 2014. Ask God to help you be open to others and to share Christ with them.

Reflect on the words of Thomas Merton: “The beginning of love is the will to let those we love be perfectly themselves, the resolution not to twist them to fit our own image. If in loving them we do not love what they are, but only their potential likeness to ourselves, then we do not love them: we only love the reflection of ourselves we find in them.”

Pray for the Community
During this time, please pray for the St. Luke and the city of Lexington. How will God use you to strengthen these communities?

Pruning the Past
There are many things in our lives that we need to let go of. Perhaps they are taking too much of a priority. Maybe they are clouding your spiritual walk with God. What needs to be pruned in your life?

Life with a Purpose
Reflect on the fact that you are in this place, at this time, in this exact situation of life for a reason. Pray that God will give you guidance on how best to do His work.
