Dear St. Luke Church Family,

As you are probably aware, our Mayor, Linda Gorton, held a news conference today in which she recommended that in an effort to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), all public, in-person events be canceled.  Out of respect for her and Governor Andy Beshear’s leadership, and based on our priority on care for the vulnerable, we will only have live-streamed worship services this weekend.

We will live stream a service at 9:30 a.m., and we will live stream another one at 11:00 a.m.  We will not have congregation members present, but we will have a carefully designed worship experience that engages people even though they are not physically present. This will be an interactive experience and can be joined on our Facebook page or YouTube Channel or at

In addition, with the exception of God’s Pantry and AA (Alcoholics Anonymous), we have canceled all other groups, meetings, and activities, including the use of our space by outside groups at least through next week.

Please know that this decision is not made lightly or out of fear, and we do highly value corporate worship and our other gatherings; however, it’s also important that we look out for each other.  We do not see this situation as a test of our faith; rather, we see good medical advice as being one of God’s good gifts that we should utilize.

At this point, we anticipate that our church office will remain open during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday).  We are working to ensure that our God’s Pantry is fully stocked.  If you have donations to drop off, you may do so during office hours or in the evenings, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

During this time, we ask that you pray for our church, our community, our leaders, and our world.  As you are able, we also encourage you to fast as we together seek God’s will, provision, and care.

Please look for more information about how to access our live-streamed services coming tomorrow.

If you have questions or need special assistance during this time, please contact us.

We are praying for each of you as well as for the entire situation.

In Christ,
Pastor Brian
