The devastation around our state and especially Johnson County resulting from the recent storms and floods is a reminder that as blessed people we have a responsibility to be a blessing.  I don’t need to express in detail the great need this has created which will be with us for many days to come.  In addition to your prayer support, we are calling on our churches to collect needed items to be sent to the hardest hit areas to begin recovery.  It is not recommended that you go or send teams at this time.  Our Disaster Relief Coordinator, Jim Morse, is staying in the area and attending all informational meetings.  He will keep us posted on the greatest needs as they arise.  For now, your congregations can help most by gathering items from the list below and getting them to one of 4 designated locations.  From there, we will get them to the areas of the most need.  Our drop off points are: Christ Church-Lexington, First-Lexington, Shiloh-Stanton and Winchester Trinity.  Our main Relief Contact will be Randy Maynard, pastor at ChristChurch.  Contact him with any additional questions you might have about updates at

The greatest needs are as follows:

  • Baby diapers

  • Baby formula

Those who want to give monetary help or support, just write a check to the church and mark it for  “flood relief” and we will make sure that it is made available to purchase what is needed.

Thank you for responding and supporting our bothers and sisters at this crucial time.  We are the CHURCH together!
