St Luke Clean & Spruce Up Day
Join us tomorrow (Saturday, June 2) for a workday, sponsored by the Trustees, to spruce up our church. We will gather at 9:00 am for coffee, donuts, and juice and start work at 9:30 a.m. There will be indoor and outdoor projects. Bring your workgloves and help – it can even be fun! All work should be completed by noon. Meet in the Café for food and work assignments. See you there!
New Member Sunday • Our next new member Sunday will be Sunday, June 10th, as we celebrate those who are new to the St. Luke family. If you have been thinking about joining the church, this would be a great time to do it. We hope to have new members to recognize at each one of the morning services. If you are interested in being included in this special day, please talk with Pastor Mark as soon as you can by emailing him at email@example.com or call the church office at 859-269-4687.
Conversation on the Draft of the Revised United Methodist Social Principles • You are invited to participate in the Public Conversation on the Draft of the Revised United Methodist Social Principles. This event will take place on Tuesday, June 26, 1-4pm in Cordelia A & B (Located in the Cafeteria) of Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore. This event is open to lay and clergy. This is an incredible opportunity for our district and conference to provide input on the revisions that are being made to our denominations social principles.
Farewell Reception for Jeremy Arnold and Irene Kabete • Next Sunday, June 10, we will be holding a reception to honor and recognize our outgoing youth pastor, Jeremy Arnold and our outgoing Multicultural Pastor. The reception will be following the 11:00 a.m. service in the Fellowship Hall. We will have fruit tray, vegetable trays, cookies, etc. There will be a basket to collect cards for Jeremy and Irene. Come and wish Jeremy and Irene well as they continue to follow God into further ministry!
Farewell Reception for District Superintendent James Williams • Please join us for a farewell reception honoring our outgoing District Superintendent James Williams and Natalie, John, and Mary Grace today from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Southern Hills UMC, 2356 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington. There will be a short presentation at 3:15 p.m. but otherwise this is a come-and-go event.
Wednesday Night Summer Classes! • Have you ever wished that Wednesday night classes were offered during the summer? Since summer is not a time to take a break from learning and discipleship, the Grow and Equip team is glad to announce that St. Luke will be offering two classes during the month of June. Both classes will be held Wednesdays, June 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 6:00 p.m. Life Together (by Dietrich Bonhoeffer), an exploration of Christian community will be led by Mike Powers in Room 127. The Heart of the Gospel of John, an exploration of John’s account of Jesus’ life, will be led by Jim Eastburn in Room 128. Come join us as we grow deeper in our love for God and one another through study and fellowship! You can sign up on the sign up sheets just outside of the Connection Center.
