We are seeking a few volunteers to assist worship at St. Luke by running the projection or sound equipment during services once per month. Blue Barrel Sunday

In March, St. Luke’s congregation provided 1200 lbs of food to fill in gaps in our supplies in our food pantry.  You have helped in April by bringing pastas and tomato products. For May, we are asking for canned fruits of all types. Pick up a Blue Barrel Bag today and bring it back next week filled with your pick of peaches, pears, pineapple, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, or applesauce.  Thank you!


Calling All 2018 High School Graduates

St. Luke will recognize high school graduates on May 20. We need the following information: the graduates name, high school or college of graduation, the graduates plans following graduation, a photo, and if you plan to attend the St. Luke Service on May 20. Please send these details to no later than May 15. You may also sign up at the Connection Center.

Family Vacation Bible School

Family VBS is next month, June 19-21 from 6-8pm.  Snack Supper provided and optional gym time from 8-8:30. Invest three nights with your family and make some wonderful memories growing closer to God and each other.  Register online today at  Paper registrations are available at the Children’s Information Table.


Volunteer at God’s Pantry • Do you have a few hours free on Friday afternoons? Our pantry has a vacancy for a volunteer to serve clients on Friday afternoons. Time commitment is 12:30 – 3 p.m.  Pick your Friday, once or more a month! Contact Kathy Gendreau at or Karen Hinkle at for more details.


Lexington District Conference • The annual Lexington District Conference will be this Thursday, May 17 at 7 pm at Embrace UMC, 1015 N. Limestone St. in Lexington. Any Annual Conference delegates or others who desire to attend are welcome. This conference will be to inform persons about some of  the issues that will be discussed at Annual Conference next month. This year’s Annual Conference will be in Covington at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center from June 11-13.   This year’s Mission Offering will go to support our campus ministries, two of which, the EKU and UK Wesley Foundations, are in the Lexington District. If you want to contribute be sure and mark your gift for “Conference Mission.”

Wednesday Night Summer Classes! • Have you ever wished that Wednesday night classes were offered during the summer? The Grow and Equip team is glad to announce that St. Luke will be offering two classes through the month of June on Wednesday nights this summer. Summer is not a time to take a break from learning and discipleship. Both classes will be held Wednesdays, June 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 6:00 p.m. Life Together (by Dietrich Bonhoeffer), a four week exploration of Christian community led by Mike Powers in Room 127. The Heart of the Gospel of John, a four week exploration of John’s account of Jesus’ life, led by Jim Eastburn in Room 128.  Come join us as we grow deeper in our love for God and one another through study and fellowship!
