Upward Help Needed • We still need volunteers to be coaches, assistant coaches, referees, timekeepers, and other game day volunteers. These are NOT positions that require skilled knowledge of the game of basketball. Upward provides a book that teaches everything you need to know and do to be a volunteer. Please contact Ed Towle, etowle@stlukeumc.org.

Christ Tree

Today we will bring to the altar gifts that are for new refugee families from the Republic of the Congo, families referred by the Alms Committee, members of our ESL program.  Place packages on the altar rail and gift cards in the baskets.  Gifts will be distributed this afternoon.  If you have not brought your gift this morning, please bring it to church by 1:00.  Thank you for your generous support of this outreach project.

Ask for Socks for Christmas

Be sure to ask for new underwear and warm clothes for Christmas so you can share your gently used items with the needy individuals served by Nathaniel Mission.  Bag up your sweatshirts, boxers, and gloves and put them in the basket at the Connection Center.  Many will be blessed!

Reminder: Hospitality Begins in the Parking Lot

St. Luke’s parking lot is one of the first things that a guest sees and experiences when visiting our church for the first time.  So, not only is it important to provide enough spaces, it is important to leave spaces for our guests near the main entry of the building. Those who can park away from the main entrances are encouraged to show hospitality in this way.

Christmas Offering

Your designated Christmas offering this year, our offering will be split between an international project with our mission partnership in Nicaragua and locally with UK and EKU Wesley Foundations.  Contributions to the Christmas offering must either be in a Christmas envelope or you need to note “Christmas Offering” in the memo section of your check.

Church Office Holiday Hours

Please note that the church office will be closed on December 26, 27, and 28.  It will also be closed on December 30 and January 2. Due to the shortened week, items for the bulletin on January 1 need to be in by December 23.

End-of-Year Contributions

With the end of the year fast approaching, please consider your year-end giving to the 2016 Ministry Budget. To be eligible to be claimed as tax deductions for 2016, all donations must be received or postmarked by December 31, 2016.
