Volunteer with God’s Pantry for Thanksgiving  •  Volunteers are still needed especially for the 1 to 3 p.m. shift on Tuesday, November 21 to help with the annual God’s Pantry Thanksgiving food distribution. The event will be at the Richmond Road campus of Southland Christian Church. Sign-up sheets are on the wall near the Connection Center Desk. Also, we have learned that Southland requires all volunteers at the facility to be checked through the Child Abuse Registry.  Thus, we need to obtain birth dates of all who have volunteered. Please send your birthdate to kphinkle@twc.com. She promises not to make any dates public.

We will  continue to receive through December 17. Your gifts will be a blessing to many.

Confirmation/New Member Sunday

Next Sunday we will be a very special Sunday in the church.   It is Confirmation Sunday, which is the Sunday that we receive the members of the youth confirmation class into membership in the church. Some of them will be baptized that morning and those that have already been baptized will have a chance to remember and reaffirm their vows. It will also be New Member Sunday.   We would rejoice to welcome anyone that day who is new to St. Luke and/or been thinking about becoming a member. Also if you have never experienced baptism before and would like to do that, it would make this an even more special Sunday.   If you would like to be baptized or join the church, please talk with Pastor Mark in the next couple of weeks.  Let’s all make a special effort to be there that Sunday for these new members and welcome all of them into the church family.

New Advent Study • In his new study Adam Hamilton examines Christmas through the eyes of Joseph so that we can learn to accept and glorify God’s will even when our situation makes it difficult to do so. John Duff will be leading Adam Hamilton’s new study, ‘Faithful: Christmas through the eyes of Joseph’, this Advent season on Sunday nights from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate in this special season of anticipation and preparation for Christmas. Advent starts on the 3rd of December, but the study will run from November 26th – December 17th.

College Group Retreat •  St. Luke University will be having it’s Fall Retreat: Be Still, on November 17-19 at the Red River Gorge.  Please contact John Duff at jduff@stlukeumc.org if you are interested!
