Ash Wednesday Service

Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Lenten Season in the Church.  Lent is the six-weeks leading up to Easter, during which we focus on preparing our hearts and lives through prayer, repentance of sin, giving of alms, atonement, and self denial for the resurrected Lord. Come observe the beginning of the lenten season with a service this Wednesday the 26th at 6:30pm. This service will include a service of confession, prayers for healing and anointing oil, and the traditional imposition of ashes.

Palm Sunday Celebration!

Palm Sunday is the day that we celebrate the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. In the Bible, many shout praises of “Hosanna”, waved palm branches, and laid their coats down on the road as Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey as a sign of praise. We want to continue to lift our shouts of praise and worship in a celebratory atmosphere.

This year at St. Luke, we will celebrate with a church wide party in the parking lot after the morning services. There will be fellowship, food, activities, a petting zoo, and more! Come and celebrate Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week with your St. Luke family!

Flood Relief

There has been massive flooding in Eastern Kentucky, and we need your help!  We are assembling more flood buckets to send as soon as possible. We need supplies and funds to purchase supplies.  There will be a packing party in the near future, too! Stop by the Connection Center or contact our Team Leader, Allen Porter (606-375-2753) for more information.

St. Luke Connect

Are you new to St. Luke? Want to find out more about what we value, our ministries, and more about the church? Our Senior Pastor, Brian Ebel, would love to meet you on Wednesday, March 25 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for newer people to St. Luke that want to find out more to connect, join the church, be baptized or ask questions.

Why Easter Matters

“The Kemp Class, which meets in room 124 from 9:45 to 10:45am on Sundays, is studying “30 Life Principles” by Dr. Charles Stanley.  We will take a break from life principles on March 15 when we begin a 4-week Lent study by Andy Stanley entitled “Why Easter Matters.”  We invite you to join our class for some interesting discussion and insights.”

Board Game Night!

Everyone is invited to Loft on March 7th from 6-8pm for an evening of fun & fellowship. Bring your favorite board game to play and a snack to share! We will be collecting canned goods for God’s Pantry as your admission. Invite friends and neighbors to experience some St. Luke hospitality.

New Sunday Night Study: Kaleidoscope

Our Senior Pastor Brian Ebel will be teaching a study called “Kaleidoscope” during the season of Lent. It will focus on different Scriptural passages and the theology of the atonement (Jesus’ death and resurrection). The study starts on March 1st and will run for 5 Sundays (March 1st – April 5th) from 5:30-6:30 PM in room 128!  Come and deepen your understanding of Good Friday and Easter Sunday!

Want to Work with Video and Social Technology in Worship?

St. Luke is seeking volunteers to run our livestream services on Sunday mornings. Training will be provided, no experience necessary. Volunteers would need to be available for both morning services on a rotational basis. An informational meeting will be held on March 1 at 12:30 in room 127. If you are interested, contact Amanda Draughn at
