Family Photos and Pictorial Directory • A pictorial directory is a powerful tool in our church to help us know each other better. Our last directory is now outdated and it is time for a new one. Please make an appointment to have your picture taken at the sign-up table in the Connection Center. You can also sign up online at www.stlukeumc.org/signup. Every family photographed for the directory will receive a copy of the directory and one 8×10 portrait at no cost. You will also have the opportunity to purchase additional portraits at the time of photography.
Blue Barrell Sunday • Pick up your Blue Bag today and return it next Sunday filled with a variety of canned meats. It can be canned chicken, tuna, salmon, chili, or beef stew. Spam, Vienna sausages, and sardines are also gladly accepted and are quickly selected by our client families. July may be vacation time for many, so please know you can drop off your contributions throughout the month if you are going to be out of town on our special Blue Barrel Bag Sunday.
Christmas in July
We’re celebrating Christmas in July! Our “Christmas Unplugged” sermon series will focus on a Christmas free of all the secular trappings and focus on the message of how the birth of the baby Jesus impacts our lives every day through the lasting miracles of Jesus Christ.
We will also have a special offering for the church and a missions emphasis this month. Our much loved back-to-school project is back, through our partnership with Lexington Rescue Mission! Watch for more information soon, but mark your calendars for our Miracle Sunday on July 29. Get ready to make a real difference in these very special ways as we seek to bring Jesus Christ into more and more lives!

We will need help serving the meals and would like ask your group or class to consider serving one meal this semester. One benefit of sponsoring a meal is that you are able to raise money for a specific mission or ministry opportunity. There is a sign-up sheet by the Connection Center that you can use to sign up! Our fall semester runs August 15 through November 14. Email or call Marty Sell at email@example.com or 859 296-1038 for any questions.
Worship Discussion Conference • The SLT is planning two Church Conferences that will focus only on worship at St. Luke. The first conference will take place on Wednesday, July 18 and we will focus on the need to make some changes and present a couple of scenarios that are under consideration. The second conference is scheduled for Wednesday, August 1 for additional discussion and input. We really need everyone’s thoughts and input as we try to discern the best scenario for the whole church. Please make plans to join us for these important discussions. Both conferences will begin at 6:30 p.m. and meet in the Sanctuary.
Let Them Eat Cake! • Chuck and Sue Lord are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary and invite you to join them for cake in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, July 15, after the 9:45 or 11:00 service!
