Prayer Shawl Ministry
Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into the shawls. The Prayer Shawl Ministry of St. Luke Methodist Church meets every Tuesday morning in Room 124 from 10:00-12:00. If you knit/crochet, or would like to learn, please join us in the making and giving of the Prayer Shawls.
Yoga Classes are Coming to St. Luke! • Carrie Rogers is a certified yoga instructor and she has graciously offered to donate her time, expertise, and knowledge to those at St. Luke that would wish to experience this exercise in a comfortable, Christian environment. The class will be basic, slow flow, and restorative and will be for both men and women, newcomers and experts alike! These classes will be free with the option to make a donation to the St. Luke Recreation ministry fund. You would need to bring your own Yoga mat and any gear you wish to use. If there is enough interest, a regular class will be held on either Thursday or Friday mornings at a time that is most convenient for everyone, based upon feedback we receive. Are you interested in signing up? Contact Mark Walz at firstname.lastname@example.org or Carrie Rogers at email@example.com.
Recently, St. Luke members have been playing lots of ping-pong at the church and we now have three tables to play on! As a result, we have decided to host a ping-pong tournament as part of the opening night of Wednesday.comm! Joy McPherson will be organizing the tournament and anyone who would like to sign up can do so on the sheet next to the Connection Center. When you sign up please note whether you consider yourself a “beginner” or “advanced.”
