Discipleship Fair • We need YOU! • Oct. 30 • Next Sunday from 9:30-12:30, we will be presenting the St. Luke Discipleship Fair in Fellowship Hall. This event is to provide you opportunities to reflect on God’s call to go deeper in your discipleship and to take your next step in all areas of our membership vows (prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness).  Our ministries will be represented, and snacks are provided.  Please make plans to attend!

 

New Women’s Bible Study Begins • Wednesday, October 26 • 10:00 am • Room 126 • All women are welcome to join us for a new study beginning October 26 on “Jeremiah: Daring to Hope in an Unstable World”. This Tuesday morning study will run through December 6. Books are $10. Contact Francie Sewell to purchase or for more information at fsewellky@icloud.com or 859-309-2082. The next study will begin in January.

Pumpkinfest is This Saturday • The Children’s Ministry Leadership will hold our Pumpkinfest with games, activities, and tacos from 5-6:30pm in our front parking lot (inside the Life Center in the event of bad weather) followed by viewing “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” in the gym on a giant screen at 6:30! Health Expo: Wellness Checks • Wednesday, October 26 • 5:00 – 7:30 pm • Please join us for wellness checks in the gym during Wednesday.comm! Flu shots will be given by the health department, and there is no charge if you bring either your Medicare, Medicaid, or Health insurance card.  Otherwise, the charge is $25.  Pediatric doses will be available for children. The  meal is prepared and served by the United Methodist Women. Proceeds will go to the KY United Methodist Children’s Home. Meal: Meatballs and gravy over noodles, mixed vegetables, and assorted desserts. Meals are $5 per plate (sharing is allowed, max. $15 per family) and  will be served from 5:15 – 6:30 p.m.  

 

Work Day at St. Luke • Saturday, November 5 • 9:00 a.m. • People of all ages and genders are needed to complete the fall clean up needs of church. All equipment will be provided for the chores. Donuts and coffee will be available at 9:00 a.m. with work starting at 9:30 a.m. We should complete everything by 1:00 p.m. at the latest.

 

Esther Circle of UMW Meeting • Nov. 1 • The next meeting of the Esther Circle will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1 in the Fellowship Hall. Volunteer Signups for Sharing Thanksgiving

St. Luke volunteers will serve on Tuesday, November 22 at Imani Baptist Church on Georgetown Street for the God’s Pantry community wide Thanksgiving Food Baskets. Sign up sheets are posted by the Life Center Welcome desk. Contact Karen Hinkle at kphinkle@twc.com.

 

*UK Wesley Foundation Fundraising Dinner • The annual fundraising dinner is scheduled for Friday, November 11 from 7-9:00 p.m. at Southern Hills. Upward Help Needed • We still need volunteers to be coaches, assistant coaches, referees, timekeepers, and other game day volunteers. These are NOT positions that require skilled knowledge of the game of basketball. Upward provides a book that teaches everything you need to know and do to be a volunteer. Pastor & Staff Appreciation Month • October is designated as Pastor and Staff Appreciation month by the UMC. Baskets will be placed in the Connection and Welcome Centers for you to leave cards, letters, notes of appreciation, etc. Let’s be creative and  show the staff how much we appreciate what they do for us all year long.
