Here at St. Luke our children’s ministry vision is: Changing the World One Child at a Time through excellence in ministry to children. St. Luke Children’s Ministry offers a Mother’s Day Out program, children’s choir, Sunday morning nursery and preschool classes as well as Power Hour (Sunday School) for Kindergarten through 5th grade. We also offer an 11:10 a.m. Children’s Worship Service- God’s Backyard. Other programs include children’s choir, Wednesday.com classes, Vacation Bible School, 5th Grade Club, Easter Egg-stravaganza and various family events. Along with the Children’s Ministry Leadership Team, Susan heads up the children’s ministries ranging from the nurseries to 5th grade – a full time job for our very important children. Susan joined the staff in 1994. She has a B.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee and an M.S. in Education from Indiana University. Susan taught school for 10 years prior to joining St. Luke. She and Greg married in 1983 and have two adult children.
Mother’s Day Out The Mother’s Day out program is a ministry of St. Luke UMC designed to share love and concern with parents and children. To a preschooler, MDO means fun – fun while learning, growing, doing and being. Children one year through preschool age are invited to participate in this program.
