St. Luke Discipleship Fair
November 12, 2016
9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Sanctuary Lobby and Fellowship Hall
The St. Luke Discipleship Fair is designed to provide an opportunity for people to respond to God’s call to them to go deeper in their discipleship, to grow in their faith, and to take their next step in all areas of our membership vows (prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness). We hope that it will be an enjoyable experience for everyone, and there will be snacks provided, but more importantly, the fair is the culmination of our year-long emphasis on discipleship. It will allow and encourage people to ask questions, discern their many gifts and talents, and learn how they can grow as a disciple and share their gifts within particular ministries at St. Luke. There will be several tables with information and opportunities to respond in service, study, stewardship, and prayer. There will also be a booklet for each person that will guide them through the fair and give them a record of their next steps they’ve committed to.
It is our hope that the Discipleship Fair will also generate awareness, enthusiasm, and involvement among St. Luke constituents and members to increase involvement in lay ministry. It is a celebration of the work of the church and a way for people to meet and to gather information about the various ministries, teams, organizations, programs, and opportunities that are available at St. Luke.
It is our prayer that the Discipleship Fair will encourage the practice of stewardship of time, talent, and gifts by fostering a deeper realization about our own call to be disciples of Jesus Christ. As each of us responds as God is calling us, St. Luke will continue to move closer and closer to realizing our vision of Jesus Christ in Every Life.
