Prayer Shawl Ministry
Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into the shawls. The Prayer Shawl Ministry of St. Luke Methodist Church meets every Tuesday morning in Room 124 from 10:00-12:00. If you knit/crochet, or would like to learn, please join us in the making and giving of the Prayer Shawls.

Name Tag Month! • Are you new to St. Luke? Are you not good at remembering names? Are you a long-term member who is too embarrassed to ask someone his/her name? Do you want to get better acquainted with others on a first-name basis? If any of these apply to you, you will be very glad to know that the next six Sundays (August 12-September 16) are designated as “Name Tag Month.” Every Sunday, adhesive name tags will be available in the pew pads and at the desks in the Welcome Center and Connection Center for members, regular attendees and guests to fill out and wear throughout the morning. We expect the usual increase in attendance as school begins, and this small gesture will be a wonderful way to deepen our fellowship and broaden our outreach. Those who have laminated name tags are encouraged to wear them especially at this time. Thanks for making hospitality at St. Luke a wonderful witness of Christ’s love to all.
LAST CHANCE to be in the Pictorial Directory! • A pictorial directory is a powerful tool in our church to help us know each other better. Every family photographed for the directory will receive a copy of the directory and one 8×10 portrait at no cost. There are a handful of appointments left for Monday, September 10 and you can sign up at the table in the Connection center hallway. If you can’t find one that works for you, please contact email@example.com as soon as possible, don’t wait.

Have comments like “God’s got this!” or “Just pray about it” only left you feeling more burdened? We know we shouldn’t worry, but the reality is that we all do at times. Whether our concerns are personal or global, we long for something more than platitudes that will help us put real feet to our faith and win the worry battle. Women of all ages are welcome to join us as we begin our 7 week study, “Joshua-Winning the Worry Battle” by Barbara Roose, We will meet on Wednesdays from 10:00-12:00 in Room 126 beginning on September 5.
