Offering for KY United Methodist Homes for Children & Youth
The Kentucky United Methodist Homes for Children & Youth (KyUMH) offering is next week. Every 5th Sunday, we support this ministry to children and youth with histories of abuse, neglect and/or family trauma. Visit the informational table in the connection center or check out kyumh.org to read success stories and more about the ministry. Make a donation in the offering plate today or next Sunday. Please designate that it is for the Methodist Homes. Thank you for your generous support in the past and continuous support in sustaining this ministry for 145 years!
Wednesday.comm Meal and Classes • Our meal for Wednesday, April 26, is prepared and served by the United Methodist Men. All donations and proceeds will go to the Alms Fund. The meal will include grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, with baked beans, coleslaw, and dessert. Meals are $5 per plate (sharing is allowed, max. $15 per family) and will be served from 5:15 – 6:30 p.m.
National Day of Prayer Service • This year’s National Day of Prayer service will be at Trinity Hill United Methodist Church on Thursday May 4th at 7:00 P.M. Persons from all of the United Methodist Churches in Lexington will be praying for our nation and world. Make plans to join us for this special time of prayer and worship. If you would like to be St. Luke’s representative in prayer that evening please talk with Pastor Mark.
Volunteers Needed • Do you have a passion for worship and enjoy technology? If so, we might have a ministry need that would be an ideal fit for you. We are looking for a few members to run the computer (for the projection system) during the three services on a Sunday morning during the summer, approximately one Sunday per month, from late May – mid August. Training will be provided. If you would like to volunteer, or have questions, please contact: Mariann Reinke, worship director, firstname.lastname@example.org or call 419-494-3335.
Items Needed for UMCOR Cleaning Buckets • We need your help in purchasing items for UMCOR cleaning buckets that will be used to help people in communities that have recently faced floods or other disasters. Stop by the table across from the Cafe to pick up a list of basic items — such as sponges, detergent, dish soap, etc. — that you can buy to help with this missions project. The items need to be returned by May 3, so the completed buckets can be assembled at the Wednesday.comm closing event.
Clean Grocery Bags Needed for God’s Pantry • The pantry is in need of clean, used plastic grocery bags. If you have some that you can donate, please bring them and place them in the blue barrels or they can be dropped off at the pantry.
