Choir Concert Tonight • Tonight, Friday, March 16, St. Luke is hosting the Ohio University Men’s Choir and the Scott Co HS Concert Choir!  The concert will take place in the Sanctuary at 7:00 pm. Come join us!

 

Wednesday.comm Meal and Classes • Our meal for Wednesday, March 21, is prepared and served by the Seasons Sunday School Class. All proceeds will go to the UK Wesley Foundation. Meal: Chicken Tetrazzini, tossed salad, rolls, and dessert. Meals are $5 per plate (sharing is allowed, max. $15 per family) and  will be served from 5:15 – 6:30 p.m.

 

Emergency Response Training

The Lexington District is holding an ERT training to create a district Disaster Response Team for UMCOR. This meeting will be at St. Luke UMC on April 20-21. The Training will start on Friday Afternoon/evening (time TBD) and consist of 4 hours Friday, April 20, and 4 hours on Saturday, April 21. If you are interested in completing the training and becoming part of the team, please contact Allen Porter ASAP at alport1941@gmail.com or 606-375-3753.

 

Feed the Choir

Anyone wishing to bring refreshments for the choir Easter Sunday, may sign up on the sheet at the Connection Center.  

 

The Mountain Mission Truck is Coming!

The Mountain Mission is in need of socks, underwear, men’s clothes, appliances,  coffee and creamer, coffee filters, 33 gallon black garbage bags, Mean Green Spray, Pine-sol, heavy-duty mops, furniture polish, bleach, drain cleaner, and vacuum cleaners.  Please drop off donated items inside the stairwell storage space in the Connection Center (just past the Connection Center on the left) before Monday morning. Thank you so much for responding!

 

Invite a Friend or neighbor to Join us for Easter

Pick up some cards from the lobby and invite a friend or neighbor to join us for our Easter Services on Sunday, April 1.

 

Blue Barrel unday

Blue Barrel Sunday is this week. Please place your Blue Barrel bags filled with breakfast items: oatmeal, cereals, pop tarts, breakfast bars, and pancake mix in or near the Blue Barrels. If you forgot your bag, we will accept it at any time!  Thank you!

 

It’s Time to Egg-a-Neighbor!

Did you know that you can make an impact right where you live? We have some very special buckets ready for you in the Connection Center. These buckets will help us share the true reason we celebrate Easter! Pick up a bucket (or two) today and Egg-A-Neighbor!  Instructions included.

 

Silver Sneakers Class Offerings with New Times!

Did you know that Silver Sneakers classes are free to St. Luke members? Try them out: Mondays (chair yoga/stretching/balance), Tuesdays (cardio/strength), Wednesdays (chair yoga/stretching/balance) at 11:15 a.m.

 

Holy Week Opportunities

During Holy Week, we will have several opportunities for you to come and prepare your hearts for Easter. Our Palm Sunday service will be on Sunday, March 25. On March 29, Maundy Thursday, we invite you to come to the Thursday Night Service of Darkness at 7:00 pm and on Good Friday, March 30,  from 11:00 am- 5:00 pm the Sanctuary will be open for “come and go” communion and interactive journey through the Way of the Cross. On Easter Sunday, in addition to our regular Sunday services, we will also have an Easter Sunrise service at 7:00 am outside under the cross and flame.

 

St. Luke 101

A new session of St. Luke 101 will begin on Wednesday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m.  and continue through the four Wednesdays in April. If you are new to St. Luke, or would like to know more about the church or you are interested in joining the church please come join us as we talk about the doctrines, history and ministries of St. Luke.   The Wednesday.comm meal begins at 5:15 and the class will be from 6-7 p.m.
