Gifts of Hospitality and Helping? We Need You!
Fellowship Time in the Gym before each morning worship service has become a special time for our church family to have a light snack and get to know one another, and we need some additional hands to share the load of offering it weekly. We especially need people to bring snacks and to put tables and chairs away at the end of the morning, and we need an occasional substitute to set things out and keep things refilled throughout the morning. If you would like to serve in this way, please contact Nora Conner (firstname.lastname@example.org, 859-269-4687) for more information. Thank you for helping with this important ministry!
Sign up to Serve a 2019 Wednesday.comm Meal
The 2019 Semester of Wednesday.Comm will be upon us soon! We need help serving the meals as usual and would ask your group or class to consider serving one meal this semester. This night helps St. Luke reach its mission of Jesus Christ in every life.
There is a sign-up sheet by the Connection Center that you can use to sign up for a specific night if your group is able and willing. The sign-up sheet will help so you know what spots are still available. Our fall semester runs January 23rd through May 1st. Also feel free to email or call Marty Sell at email@example.com and: 859 296-1038. John’s email is firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to include him on your email.
This year the project for our special Christmas offering is the Nicaragua Water Project, as we work with our partners there to bring clean water to families in our partner village there. Contributions to this offering must be in a Christmas envelope, and please note “Water Project” in the memo section.

Uncommon Decency in the Seasons Class • Pastor Mike Powers will be doing a 6-week study starting on January 13 in the Seasons Class in Room 127 at 9:30 a.m. The study will be entitled: Uncommon Decency: Christian Civility in an Uncivil World, based on the book by Richard Mouw. This is a great opportunity to talk about hot-topic issues and how Christians can react with civility and love amidst a culture driven by fear, hatred and bitterness. This class is open to everyone, so please join us at 9:30 as we learn to discuss with love and understanding!

Encourage a Child and a Family in 2019
Our Tuesday After School Program, Kids’ Cafe, will resume on Tuesday, January 15. We are in great need of additional volunteers for second semester! We average 25-30 K-5 kids each week and rely mostly on retired and semi-retired folks to love and encourage these marginalized children. Could you give one or more Tuesdays to this outreach? Our program runs from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and there are several ways you can serve, we will help you find where you are comfortable. Please call or text Pam Harned, 859-494-8677 or Sue Lord, 859-797-1586, and we will happily answer your questions!
