Holy Week Opportunities
During Holy Week, we will have several opportunities for you to come and prepare your hearts for Easter. Tonight, we are hosting the Bluegrass Opera and their free performance of “King of Glory” at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary (a love offering will be taken). On April 13, Maundy Thursday, we invite you to come to the Thursday Night Service of Darkness at 7:00 p.m. On Good Friday, April 14, from noon-6 p.m. the Sanctuary will be open for “come and go” communion and an interactive journey through the Way of the Cross. Our Easter Sunday worship services will begin with a Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. outside under the Cross and Flame, followed by Easter Worship Celebrations at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. , 11:00 a.m. and a combined Swahili and Multicultural Service at 12:30 p.m. Please join us and use our special postcards to invite your friends, family, and neighbors for these wonderful opportunities during Holy Week.
Feed the Choir
Anyone wishing to bring refreshments for the choir Easter Sunday, may sign up at the Connection Center.
Flowers for Easter Sunday Cross
Everyone is invited to bring fresh flowers to place on the cross as you come to worship next week. The Floral Cross will be placed near door number one.
Blue Barrel Sunday
This month, Blue Barrel Sunday is also Easter Sunday. Please take a Blue Barrel bag home today and bring it back next week filled with miscellaneous canned vegetables such as beets, greens of all kinds, asparagus, sauerkraut, black-eyed peas, lima beans or butter beans. New needs include canned soups and cereals.
Reminder: Hospitality Begins in the Parking Lot
St. Luke’s parking lot is one of the first things that a guest sees and experiences when visiting our church for the first time. So not only is it important to provide enough spaces, it is important to designate guest spaces near the main entry of the building. Those who can park away from the main entrances next week for Easter Sunday are encouraged to show hospitality in this way.
