Volunteers Needed for Winter Slam Jam this Saturday!

This Saturday, February 23 from 9-4pm, we will have our end of season celebration for our St. Luke Kids Basketball League, Winter Slam Jam! Before each game, the players and coaches for the teams will be announced to the crowd.  After the game, the teams will stay for a blow-out party! We are in need of some volunteers to help set up food, help greet and provide directions, and also people to have fun, watch games, and mingle with our families and invite them to church! This is a great discipleship opportunity as well as great food, great fun, and a special surprise for the players. If you can help, contact Mark Walz at mwalz@stlukeumc.org as soon as possible.

Important Reminder

It is the season of the year when kids are being asked to sell all types of the things like cookies and popcorn and candles and plants, etc. to support various organizations and schools.  A gentle reminder that while we want to be supportive of our children and youth, in fairness to all, tables and displays promoting the sale of such items are not allowed at any time in the church.

Wednesday.comm Meal and Classes •   Our meal for February 20 is prepared and served by the staff of Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center. All proceeds will go to the camp. There is a suggested donation of $5 per plate (plate sharing is allowed!) and will be served from 5:15 – 6:30 p.m. Find out more about classes at stlukeumc.org/wednesdays.

Blue Barrel Sunday • Today is Blue Barrel Sunday! Remember to place your bags filled with a variety of canned soups in or near one of the Blue Barrels. If you forgot your bag or were unable to bring it, you can drop off your contributions throughout the month.

St. Luke Texts!
You can now opt in to receive important texts reminders from St. Luke! This is a free service and you don’t even have to download anything or create a password in order to participate. It lets you choose precisely which groups and ministries you want to get email and text messages from here at St. Luke.

Simply text the letters SLUMC to the SHORT 5-digit phone number 84576. After it texts you back, make sure you click that link and complete the process, choosing what updates you’d like from us.

We’ll also use this to send you important updates about church-wide special events coming up, inclement weather announcements, reminders of overall cancellations or schedule changes, and, if ever necessary, immediate church-wide safety and security notifications.

If you can’t complete this on your mobile phone, please go online to: flocknote.com/ StLukeUMC.
